‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to share openly about his deep grief.

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I recall you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.
