Devoted followers of the pop star are calling for that a individual who jumped a barricade and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A viral clip shows the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being detained", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile includes videos of him disturbing other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last year.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Fans Express Concern Over Grande's Safety

Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented a further comment on Instagram.

Some attendees also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was grabbed by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Hundreds of fans had assembled in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The movie, to be launched on 21 November, is the second of a two-film adaptation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which focuses on the surprising bond between two distinct characters.

The show itself is a derivative of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a light pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and earned ten Academy Award nods, securing two for best costume and artistic direction.
