Los Angeles witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Crowds

Local events included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.

Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Early Celebrations and Player Reactions

Celebrations began prior to the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event appear to show him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his speech.

The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed equal or greater support.

“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
